Daniel Steven Anderson's Obituary
Daniel Steven Anderson, age 70, was born April 1, 1952, to Arthur (Andy) and Dona Anderson in Columbus, Ohio. Retired, Dan previously worked as a journeyman for the Columbus Dispatch Printing Company. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, where he met his wife, Rita K Colley Anderson. They were married for 28 years, raising six children into adulthood. While attending, Dan served as a trustee, on the finance committee, as a Sunday School teacher, and enjoyed mowing the lawn for the church.
Dan and Rita were active in the homeschool community. Dan volunteered as a preschool leader and teacher at Home on the Rock Homeschool Group. Mr. Dan was well known for his weekly snacks.
He will be remembered by his wife, Rita; his children Todd Anderson, Tracy (Leonard) Gomez, Chris (Stacy) Anderson, Jason Anderson, Ben (Angela) Anderson, Nathan (Ashley) Anderson, Ashley (Tracy) Collins, Stephen Anderson, and Grace Anderson; as well as 15 grandchildren; sister, Beckie (Jason) Jerald; brother, John Anderson; mother-in-law and father-in-law Rita Ilean and Don Burchett; sister-in-law, Twila Colley; and daughter-in-law, Angie Evanoff. Interment will occur at Rush Township Cemetery in McDermott, Ohio, where Dan will be laid to rest on the Colley family plot.
An open house celebration is planned for friends and family on Friday, August 5 from 4 to 8 pm at Cedar Ridge Lodge, Battelle Darby Creek, 1775 Darby Creek Drive, Galloway, Ohio 43119. Everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite Hawaiin-tropical shirt to the open house.
Instead of flowers, monetary gifts would be appreciated to help the family with incurred expenses. No words can express the outpouring of love our family has received from friends and family as we traveled this road. Also, the support provided by the Fresenius Dialysis Center and the Ohio Health Hospice Team was deeply appreciated.
