Dale just had a way of assuring g you everything would be alright. I remember when my brother Reggie and I were pulled in by Dale to perform in front of the St. Philips Episcopal Church. Reggie played the drums, I was just learning how to play the violin and Dale said he can play the piano. Well we never practiced a single note together, but here we were in front of the church, me with the violin and flimsy music stand, my brother Reggie on a snare drum and Dale on the piano telling us not to worry, we will be alright, just follow his lead. We were to play Morning Has Broken. It started out great, then Dale stopped playing, and since he was our lead I stopped and Reggie stopped playing. We sat there in stone silence until someone gracious in the audience clapped for us and that was our unspoken que to pack up and walk back to our seats. I remember looking at Dale with eyes wide open and he just shrugged his shoulders. Embarrassing then, but great laughs as adults. Safe to say we never did that again.
Dale was like my 4th brother and he will always be loved and missed.
Love and prayers to Brian and family.
