Cynthia Louise Sheahan's Obituary
Cynthia Louise (Kreim) Sheahan, age 78, loving wife to Jim, special sister to Charlene, and a dear friend to many, passed away on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, at Wesley Ridge Retirement Community in Reynoldsburg, Ohio.
Cynth, Cindy, or Cinny (as she was affectionately known) was born on March 27, 1947, in Bucyrus, Ohio to the late, Richard and Dorothy (Young) Kreim. Cindy attended St. Bernard’s Catholic School through the eighth grade and was a 1965 graduate of Buckeye Central High School (both schools located in New Washington, Ohio.) She went on to earn her Registered Nurse (RN) credentials in 1968 from the Mansfield General Hospital School of Nursing (Mansfield, Ohio).
On September 5, 1970, she married James Sheahan of Lakewood, Ohio at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church in New Washington, Ohio and soon after set up their first home in Columbus, Ohio on “the Boulevard” in 1973.
Cindy began her 42-year nursing career at Grant Medical Center (Columbus, Ohio) where she was employed until 1990 in a variety of capacities (Post-Op Orthopedics, Intensive Care Floor Nurse & Charge Nurse, Post Anesthesia Care Unit Nurse, served as Secretary to the Post Anesthesia Care Committee). Her most favorite part of nursing was to comfort her patients whether it meant fluffing a pillow, giving a back rub, or a sponge bath.
In 1990, she and Jim moved from their beloved Columbus, Ohio to Fort Meyers, Florida where Cindy went on to work in post-op recovery at the Eye Center of Florida. In 1992, Cynth and Jim returned to Ohio by way of Dayton to help care for her aging parents; ultimately, moving to Gahanna, Ohio in 2002. During her 10 years living in Dayton, Cynthia worked at Montgomery Orthopedics and at a memory care unit within a nursing home.
Cynth completed her nursing career employed at Ohio State University (OSU) East Medical Center where she worked in Orthopedics and served as a Clinical Instructor for Ohio State University School of Nursing. Cindy retired from Nursing in 2012 and received multiple recognitions over the lifetime of her career for the quality of care she provided to her patients.
Her final days were spent surrounded by her husband, family, and devoted friends. Known for her outgoing personality and whit, sense of impeccable style, love of spending time with close nursing friends at annual reunions, and caring for others; Cindy will be dearly missed by all who knew her. She was an excellent cook and very much enjoyed reading, tending to her flowers & yard, playing Euchre, drinking a cold Pepsi and eating Ballreich’s potato chips, strawberry & elderberry picking, and hickory nut hunting in addition to evenings out with Jim & friends enjoying the theater and many fine dining establishments especially Mitchell’s Ocean Club and Vittoria.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 55 years, James “Jim” Sheahan, and youngest sister Charlene Kreim of Galion, Ohio. Also surviving is brother-in-law Ed Bryner of Sandusky, Ohio and sister-in-law Gail Tubbs, of Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is also survived by many special aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, and great nieces & nephews who will sadly miss her.
Cynthia was preceded in death by parents Richard and Dorothy (Young) Kreim both of New Washington, Ohio; sister Cheryl (Kreim) Bryner of Sandusky, Ohio; brother Gregory Kreim of Attica, Ohio; sister-in-law Vicki Kanney of New Washington, Ohio. Father and mother-in-law James and June (O’Toole) Sheahan of Lakewood, Ohio; sister-in-law Jill DeMore of Las Vegas, Nevada; and brother-in-law Stuart Tubbs of Ann Arbor, Michigan also preceded Cynthia in death. Cinny was also preceded in death by treasured feline furbabies Angel, Sunny, Coco, Katie, and Shelley.

Special gratitude and appreciation extends to close friends Linda & Steve Landry; Cinny’s dear friends Janet Hull & Betty Shanesy; life-long childhood friend of Cindy’s Louise (Karl) Eggers; and first cousin Joe Hook for their unwavering support, kindness, and encouragement.
Cindy will be cremated and funeral services will be private per her wishes. Family is organizing a memorial to be announced at a later date.
