He departed this world on October 19, 2023, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Craig was born on November 14, 1956, in Newark, Ohio, the son of Paul and Maxine Cook. He grew up in Newark, Ohio, and was known for his warm heart and infectious laughter from a young age.
Craig dedicated many years of his life to a successful career in pest control. He took pride in ensuring the comfort and safety of homes and businesses in the community. His dedication and expertise earned him the respect of his colleagues and clients alike.
As a father, Craig was a shining example of love, selflessness, and unwavering support. He raised his four children, Sierra A. Cook, Shelby R. Cook (Jeremy), Nathan J. Cook, and Lisa N. Archer (Andy), with boundless patience and abundant love. He was not just their father; he was their mentor, their confidant, and their biggest fan. Craig instilled in them the values of compassion, hard work, and the importance of family, values they continue to carry forward.
As a grandfather, Craig found immense joy and pride in the arrival of his eight grandchildren: Holden, Elizabeth, Aiden, Emily, Zakary, Emmitt, Alex, Donivan, and step-granddaughter Victoria. He loved nothing more than spending time with them, playing games, telling stories, and imparting wisdom that only a grandfather can provide. His bond with each grandchild was unique, and he cherished every moment with them. Above all, Craig cherished his family. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, creating lasting memories filled with love and laughter. Craig's presence brought warmth and joy to family gatherings, and his love for his grandchildren knew no bounds.
Outside of his family, Craig was known for his warmth and generosity, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear to friends and acquaintances alike. He had a passion for rock music, insects, and anything to do with the beach, which he shared with many and used to bring people together. Craig will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, intelligence, and kind-hearted nature. He had a knack for making people laugh and always had a witty remark ready. His quick wit and infectious laughter brightened many lives.
Craig's unexpected passing has left a void in our lives that can never be filled. His legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to family will be his lasting gift to us all. Though he is no longer with us in the physical sense, his memory will forever remain alive in the stories we share, the lessons we've learned, and the love we continue to feel.
A memorial service to celebrate the life of Craig will be held on Sunday, December 10, 2023. Services will be from 1 to 4:00 p.m. at the American Legion Ballroom, 7725 Refugee Road, Pickerington, Ohio 43147.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to request donations be made to a charity of your choice in honor of Craig L. Cook. As we mourn the loss of a loving father and a doting grandfather, let us also remember the beautiful moments we shared with him and find comfort in the love and memories that will forever keep his spirit alive. Craig Lawrence Cook will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. His kind heart, quick wit, and dedication to his family and community will forever be remembered.
