Charles Richard McClure's Obituary
Charles Richard McClure, was born June 3, 1947 in Dayton, Ohio and died December 4, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his parents and sister. Rick was married to Patricia McClure. Together, they had two beautiful children, Lisa (Chris) Burleson and Ryan (Michelle) McClure; four wonderful grandchildren, Gunner, Gabby, Connor and Dillon; and many loving extend family member and friends. Rick loved his family first and foremost. He loved family time and watching his children and grandchildren participate in their activities. Rick was a proud graduate of The Ohio State University, where he was a member of Kappa Sigma Fraternity. During his time at OSU, he met his one and only, Patricia Stridsbarg; they dated, married, and moved to Upper Arlington. After graduation from OSU, he had a long career in Marketing/Consulting. But his favorite career was teaching. He taught at OSU for over 20 years. He also taught at Ohio Weslyan. He had a passion for cars and OSU Football. Rick was proud of being in the national guard and the Army Reserve. Rick and Patricia enjoyed playing tennis and sitting by the pool at the Swim and Racquet Club. Rick was a great storyteller and the ultimate partier (most of the time he was the party). Rick loved his black Lab, Rocky. A memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 18, 2021 at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 2151 Dorset Road, Upper Arlington, Ohio. Those who wish may make contributions to Columbus Humane in his memory.
