Carolyn Ann Clark's Obituary
Carolyn Ann Clark (81) of New Albany, Ohio, passed away in the early morning of December 6, 2022. Our sweet Carolyn, a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, lived a beautiful life from start to finish. She shared an amazing legacy with “her Sam” that spanned 65 years of love and marriage. Those decades were filled with laughter, tears, and an undying friendship that lasted through thick and thin.
Carolyn is preceded in death by her mother Mary Doty, her brother, Bob Landrum, and her grandson, Danny Clark. She is survived by her caring and loving husband Sam Clark, her daughter Sheri Brock (Darrell), her son Dan Clark (Jenny), her sister Becky Clark (Don), and her brother Bill Clark (Sally). As well as her grand kids: Justin Brock, Ashley Patterson (Jared), Josh Clark (Lindsey), and Sammy Clark (Ashlee). One cannot forget her great-grandchildren: Adena Clark, Alexis Patterson, Liam Patterson, Octavia Clark, Blakely Clark, and Aubree Clark. Along with many other extended family and friends who loved, cared, and were touched by her, during her long and wonderful life. Carolyn was the special type of person who could immediately light up any room she entered and made an impact on so many people. She was a joyful presence with her colorful clothes, beautiful hair, creative fashion choices, and fun personality. She was lovingly known as “The Captain of the ship” and served as the true matriarch of the family.
Carolyn was born on January 3, 1941 to Merrill & Mary Landrum (Doty), in Springfield Ohio. She went on to meet Sam at only 16 years old, and they were married soon thereafter. She dabbled in a number of activities and jobs being a seamstress, a beautician, and a business owner. Carolyn always enjoyed going out, eating a great meal, and spending time with family and friends. She was truly a jack of all trades, as she and Sam began a sheet metal fabrication business together, where she managed all the administrative side of the business. On December 3, 1961, Sam and Carolyn gave birth to their adorable and sweet girl, Sheri Lynn. Shortly thereafter, on April 18,1963, they welcomed a beautiful baby boy, Daniel Steven, into their lives. This allowed Carolyn to accomplish the dream she always wanted, of having her own family, to share with Sam. Family was the most important thing to Carolyn, and she loved Sheri and Dan endlessly. Carolyn excelled at propping up her family and friends, all the while helping to support them through their many passions and difficulties in their lives. Whether that was a childhood friend, close and extended family, or her grandkids dance recitals or sports games; she made it her mission to enrich and improve the lives of others. She was endeared by all those whose lives she touched. Her will to help others was always at the forefront, all the while she never once had any expectations of receiving anything in return, just the desire to enhance the lives of those around her.
