I met Bret in Fallon, NV where we worked together. Next stop was the USS Belleau Wood where he cursed me for talking him into going there. We had many great times over the years, he will be missed. His story about Lawn Jarts and his sister was a favorite.
Wow, where to start. When you work with someone as closely as we do, then they get to be more like a friend than a coworker or just someone that works for you. Well that certainly was Bret after 20+ years @ OSU Tower. Bret would do anything for anyone who asked. It's so hard to believe he will not just walk right through the tower door. He just made the day "better. " He was a fellow Vet and while there was often bantering (Navy vs USAF), at the end of the day we were just Vets. I'll miss you Navy!
I always knew I was in good hands when I heard Bret key the mic at KOSU tower. His calm, directive, and reassuring tone was a beacon for me and fellow aviators. I cannot recall a single instance of leaving the tower after a visit when I did not have a smile on my face. Thank you, Bret....
Words cannot express the loss I feel for this man! My friend, coworker of 18yrs and Shipmate! I have many many memories with Bret! What stays with me is his genuine kindness and support. He was there if I needed someone! Always willing to share a story or life experience. If there was one thing he could do and did well, when the air traffic was thick, he was calm and knew how to do his job! Fair winds and calm seas, Shipmate! You are missed!

Bret has been my good friend for more than twenty years. He was a part of our family for many holidays and many regular nights around the bonfire. I was extremely lucky to have him in my life.
