Bonita "Bonnie" Dean (Groves) Skeens' Obituary
It is with broken hearts to announce the passing of Bonita “Bonnie” Dean (Groves) Skeens. She passed away at the Pickering House, surrounded by her loving family on September 23rd, 2022 at the age of 85 to join the love of her life William H Skeens Jr.
Bonnie was born in Columbus, Ohio on February 17, 1937 to Harold Raymond Groves and Ruth Elizabeth (Cramer) Groves. She was married to the love of her life Bill on September 15th, 1956, they enjoyed 39 years of marriage before his passing on January 16th, 1996.
She retired from JC Penny distribution and Lowes. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with her best friend Doris Pettit, traveling to Hawaii, her flower beds, watching NASCAR especially Jimmie Johnson, but her most favorite thing was spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bonnie is survived by her five children Cheryl (Todd) Lambert, Dale Skeens, Michael (Chris) Skeens, Christopher (Bev) Skeens, Rena (Jonathan) Enmen, and her brother JR (Debbie) Groves.
Thirteen Grandchildren, James (Tara) Styers, Lucas Styers, Shannon Styers, Ashley (Brian) Greene, Alyssa (Josh) Love, Seth (Stephanie) Skeens, Lauren (Luke) Rininger, Chelsea Enmen, Mary Elizabeth Gibson, Lacey Lambert, Aaron Skeens, Sierra Lambert and Ryan Skeens. Many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband she is proceeded in death by her parents.
Bonnie’s family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and aides at Fairhope Hospice. A very special thank you to Miranda Roby, Jennifer Bowshier and Jordan Saunders. We can never repay you for all the love, kindness and joy that you gave Bonnie.
Bonnie you may be gone, but you will never be forgotten. You will always be in our hearts and we will always love you all the time. We love you a bushel and a peck and a hug around the neck.
An intimate celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Fairhope Hospice 282 Sells Road, Lancaster OH 43130.
