Betty Corine Canterbury's Obituary
Betty Corine Canterbury, nee Barker, age 74, passed away at Kobacker House on the morning of January 3, 2020. She was born to the late Edgar and Hester Barker on June 30, 1945, in Boone County, West Virginia. Betty grew up playing in the creek and in the woods among the mountains with the best brothers, sisters, and cousins on the planet! She graduated from Sherman High School in 1962 and moved to Columbus, Ohio. Betty worked at Kroger for many years and made many friends and memories while working there. She loved the outdoors and gardening and spent most of her days working in the yard. She was always caring for stray animals. A beautiful soul who never met a stranger, Betty could make anyone feel loved. She loved dancing and going to concerts to see Elvis and Tom Jones, playing cards with her friends, and visiting family. She was a master at learning crafts. Nothing was too hard for her to learn, except tatting! She is preceded in death by her Brothers Jack Barker and Dennis Barker and sisters, Margaret Bess and Loretta Peal. Betty is survived by her husband of 37 years, Thomas Max and their son Elliott (Mandy) and her children from a previous marriage, TiAnna Fleming (Greg), Todd Marvin (Carla) and Lee Marvin (Whitney) sisters Linda Thornton (Phil) and Madeline Adkins, and brother Larry Barker (Deanna) 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Betty is leaving behind many close friends and family that will miss her greatly. There will be no service at this time. Memorial donations may be made to Kobacker House, Columbus Ohio.
