Bart Lee Allensworth's Obituary
Bart Lee Allensworth, 64, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023, at The OSU James Hospital, following an illness. Bart was born April 19, 1959, in Chillicothe, Ohio.
Surviving are a daughter, Megan Kepler and son-in-law, John Kepler Jr. along with his two precious granddaughters, Chloe and Keltee Kepler, all of Chillicothe, Ohio. He is also survived by his six siblings- Beverly Holland of Ohio, Barry (Mary) Allensworth of Utah, Bonnie Snyder of New Mexico, Billie Allensworth of Montana, Brian (Judy) Allensworth of Ohio, Brent Allensworth of Maryland, several nieces and nephews and many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marjorie Allensworth Beard, stepfather, Bob Beard, and brother-in-law, Jim Snyder.
Bart was a 1977 graduate of Unioto High School. He was known by many as a jack of all trades and loved his many jobs during his lifetime. He was an award-winning Taxidermist, processed deer for many of his friends and customers, worked in HVAC services, apartment maintenance, Union Township maintenance, Glatfelter, and managed a grain elevator. Bart was also very witty and had a way with his words. He enjoyed writing about his life experiences and putting long posts on Facebook. He was told by many that he should write a book or articles for a magazine.
Bart was an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved to hunt with his son-in-law, John. He also loved to garden, to take his family mushroom hunting at his favorite spots, and to go fishing together. He took pride in being self-sufficient and providing for his family.
The thing he loved most was his time with Megan, John, Chloe, and Keltee. He loved his granddaughters- watching them cheer, play sports, and helping them with their 4-H hogs.
Bart was a proud & loving father, father-in-law, grandfather, brother, and friend. His family was most important to him, and he will be truly missed. He is now reunited with his favorite hunting buddies, “Butch” Payne and John Crace, with whom he is no doubt exaggerating hunting, fishing, and mushroom hunting stories with once again.
Per his wishes, Bart’s life will be celebrated privately, at a later date.
