Barbara Hanna Pfeiffer passed away peacefully of natural causes on October 10, 2023, in Columbus, OH. She was 97 years old.
Barbara was born in Columbus, OH, to Ralph and Hilda Blose Hanna, on October 2, 1926. She was predeceased by her husband, John “Jack” Pfeiffer; daughter, Cathleen Kelly; and sister, Carol Barnard. She is survived by her son, John “Jay” (Jill) Pfeiffer of Denver, CO; son-in-law Dennis Kelly (Fran) of North Olmsted, OH; and grandchildren Ryan Kelly (Gina), Bryn Miller (Warren), Sarah Pfeiffer Nasif (Chris), Dana Pfeiffer, Kris Pfeiffer, and seven great-grandchildren. Barbara was a graduate of the Ohio State University and a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She is remembered by family and friends as a strong, independent, capable, creative, generous, and relentlessly positive woman. She was an artist and genealogist, and an avid skier until late in life. She loved life, the Buckeyes, Baycrafters, reminiscing, dark chocolate, white wine, lobster bisque, crossword puzzles, swimming, reading, changing seasons, decorating for holidays, fixing things, her caregivers and staff at Westminster-Thurber, the Scioto River, the North Coast, the Rocky Mountains, and the USA. Above all, she loved and deeply valued her family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her well. There will be a private burial in North Olmsted, OH.
