I first met Alan, when I was working many years ago AT The OSU Reseach Foundation as a press operator, and print shop employee, he was hired to help the boss of the Publications Dept of the OSU/RF, and we were always busy. Alan and I eventually became good friends, in the work place, and outside of work, as we shared the love of Model Trains, and he was with a group of Model Railroad people local to Columbus, and invited me to visit the group, which I did a few months later. That became our long time hobby to share. And we also teamed up, in the shop, the Printing Dept of OSU/RF, to go out and do interviews (that was his part of the duet) and I took my camera, and we would visit the different depts on campus that were funded by the OSU/RF for diff purposes. The OSU/RF published an annual report, and they needed stories and photos to show the work being done, that was the project that Alan and I did, go do the interviews, take the photos, then Alan would do the Editorial work for the OSU/RF itself. But, our friendship grew, thru those different endeavors and other interests we shared, and when, i chose to take a diff job in another Campus Dept, I chose to stay in contact with Alan, and that move paid benefits for both of us. AS time passed, he moved on, bought his own printing company, with his wife, and they began Rocky Fork Printing in Gahanna, close to his home, and i was in contact with him, as i transfered to other OSU Depts. over the years. When I took retirement, many years ago, I stayed in contact with Alan thru the Model Trains group "O" gauge, and we did stay in contact with each other for the rest of our life. And that also paid benefits for both of us. Until he passed away recently from his illness, which I knew about, but not sure how much, until the God called him home. And yes, I do miss our chats, and the visits to his shop and the Train Shows, but, that was a very rewarding friendship, and one does not get too many of them in life You are in your new home location now, Alan, relax and take time to enjoy, Richard Thomas, a long time ago, friend from the OSU work place.

I met Alan when I started working at Stonybrook ELC and while working as a janitor there. We chatted often about his printing business. My husband and I needed to print a newsletter for our group on a quarterly basis and Alan and Pat were our first and only choice. I would bring my son with me to pick up the newsletters and Alan always had a train story or a fishing story to share. He and Pat were such loving and caring people. Alan will be missed. (((Hugs))) for Pat from Miss Kim.

Alan ... I am so sorry and sad that you are gone! You did something no other high school graduate has ever done and that is keep their "Graduation Class" TOGETHER...for 62 years! We are still together and know where one another is and how each is doing. You had us "grow up" together, took us through our schooling and jobs, our marriages, through the birth of our children, enabling comfort for one another who suffered losses, and watched one another grow older and wonder how that happened! One special day in June, as it has always been, will be when we think very heavily of you and how much love you showed the "Class of '62 at NLHS" and continued to give to us for so many years. Well done, good and faithful servant! LLove - Classmate Donna (Householder) Moore.

I have known Alan since we were young boys in Brandon, Ohio. We played with model trains, did a lot of bass fishing and swimming in Granny creek and even overnight camping along its banks. We fished in Lake Erie and he even made two high quality fishing rods for me and my son Chris for walleye fishing. They were made in the same colors of our college. We still have them. Alan was a dear friend which I will definitely miss. God bless him and his family. Chuck
