Joanne – Always a dependable force of playful wit, warmth and intelligence. How blessed my siblings, parents and I have been by your generosity and warm understanding of people. It would never have been enough time, but deep appreciation for all that you endured to give us more. Missing all the love and joyful times you brought into our lives and admiration for how you've left us such indelible memories to counter our sorrow.

I will always carry her laughter, her love, and her lessons in my heart.
I will choose to live happy going forward in honor of her because she fought for us to live a happy life.
When Aunt Joanne had something to say, you were going to hear it whether you wanted to or not but it was always for your own good and in your best interests.
If she was in your corner you had a fighter that would fight for you no matter what.
She fought for truth, equality, and acceptance for everyone she knew and loved.
I will miss:
* Her laugh
* Her hugs
* Her kisses
* Having just one more Rum and Coke
* OSU/Michigan Football Games
* Her food
* Her wisdom
* Her sense of humor
* And most of all her unconditional love
She thought I was a better person than I think I am and made me want to live up to her expectation.
She was the best aunt that God could ever give me and I was blessed to know her, love her, and share time with her.
There will never be a more loving and welcoming woman as Joanne. She was a staple for us athletes at Ohio University and was a proud parent of and such a great supporter. She will be dearly missed.
Bushby, hearing this news has my heart broken. I’m sad she is gone and sad you have to experience this void. Sad for the many people who knew and loved your mom. She was the best. I cannot thank her enough for keeping me alive and letting me stay at her house as we celebrated my 21st birthday. Sending the biggest hug and lots of love. Oh Jenn. The first day I met you and your mom was the day I moved into Rocky Creek Apartments next-door and she came over and said hi I’m Joanne and this is Jennifer and I said hi I’m Julie and this is Jordan and we were forever known as the 4J’s. Your mom was one of a kind, and I drank many a rum and coke with her over the last 30 years. I will be honored to drink one more in her memory with you. ❤️. Julie Reeg O’Connor
I grew up next door to the Bushby's and Joanne and I spent many nights talking to each other from our bedroom windows when we should have been asleep. Joanne loved her family more than anything and she has always been so proud of her daughter, Jennifer. I'm so glad you are no longer suffering, Joanne!
